No. The Board requires you to earn 24 hours of CE for each renewal cycle. The Board does not consider the CE “wasted.” Any time a licensee gets training or education, it benefits the patient as well as the occupational therapy practitioner.
Please note that licensees who submit their renewal with all required items prior to the month when their license expires may count CE completed during their license’s expiration month for their next renewal period.
If you renew your license at least one or two months before your expiration date, you may begin counting CE during your birth month for the next renewal.
For example, if your current renewal period ends April 30, 2021, then if your renewal is successfully completed in February 2021 or March 2021 (and you have verified such on our Look up a License page), then you may count CE taken during April 2021 for your next renewal, in 2023. When you next renew, though, be sure to not wait until the last minute, including if renewing online, in case there are possible issues entering the CE.
