Applicants whose license will be issued on or after January 1, 2019 will need to comply with the new fingerprinting requirement.

Application fees are non-refundable. Please make sure you meet the eligibility requirements before you apply.
The application fee expires in one year. If your application expires before you have met all requirements, you will have to pay a re-application fee.
Change your address promptly. If you move during the application process, update your address immediately through the Change Your Contact Info link on the homepage. Wrong addresses can delay your licensure.
Expedited delivery of your license is possible. Your license will be mailed to you. If you need your license as quickly as possible, contact the Licensing Department for information about using an overnight service.
Online verification. You may provide physical therapy services upon online verification of licensure prior to receiving your paper license from the Board. This applies to both Permanent and Temporary licensees. You no longer have to wait until you have received the paper license from the Board.
The Board does not notify applicants directly of their application status. Check the status of your application online if you have received your Applicant Password from the Board. If you are retaking the exam, you must contact the Board to check your status. For more information and to check Applicant Status Lookup

Applicants with Prior Criminal History. A review to determine licensure eligibility for individual’s with a prior criminal history can be requested by completing and submitting the Criminal History Evaluation Form available at ptot.texas.gov under the Request a Criminal History Evaluation link.
