Renew an Active License 

In order to complete the renewal process, you must report your CCUs and complete the renewal application.

Follow the instructions at Reporting Your CCUs to complete the first part of your renewal.

Complete the Renewal Application:

You must create an online account and link your license to your online account in order to start the renewal process.

DO NOT CONTINUE UNLESS YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

  • CCUs (PT = 30 CCUs, PTA = 20 CCUs)
  • the TX JAM (passing score),
  • an HHS-approved Human Trafficking Prevention Training
  • Fingerprinting if not previously submitted for initial issuance of a TX license or for a prior TX license renewal or restoration.

Late renewal up to one (1) year can renew online.

Log in to complete the Continuing Competence Activity Summary. 

  • You must have a course/activity approval number OR an Accredited Provider number OR a pre-approved number to complete the CC Activity Summary.
  • If any of your courses/activities were completed after your license expiration date, you cannot complete the online CC Activity Summary. You must complete the CC Activities Report and email it to exam@ptot.texas.gov. 
  • You will need your school code to complete the renewal process.
